Jacqui Cadman proudly participated in the D.C. Bar’s Melvin R. Wright Youth Law Fair at D.C. Superior Court, providing youth with hands-on legal experience. – Technologist
Brown, Goldstein & Levy partner and criminal defense powerhouse Jacqui Cadman proudly participated in the District of Columbia Bar’s Melvin R. Wright Youth Law Fair at D.C. Superior Court on Saturday, March 16, 2024. The Youth Law Fair is an annual, free, educational event that focuses on current legal issues in the D.C. area.
More than a hundred local students participated in the event. Jacqui worked closely with these students, speaking with them about her expansive career as a criminal defense attorney. She guided them through the critical experience of defending a client, as they participated in a mock trial of a fictionalized case. It was an honor for Jacqui to be able to participate in this important, community event.
Established in 2000, the Youth Law Fair provides an opportunity for local students to have an insightful and positive experience with the legal community. In partnership with D.C. Superior Court, local community organizations, and educators, the day provides students with hands-on experience in the legal system, an introduction to community resources, while also encouraging the pursuit of higher education. This year’s theme was “Carjacking. A Ride You Can’t Afford to Take.” Past topics that have been explored include the prevalent use of social media, bullying, and racial profiling.
