Vanessa Mula: Making a Difference at the San Diego Food Bank – Technologist

At Inszone Insurance Services, we believe that true success is measured not only by professional accomplishments but also by the positive impact we make in our communities. Vanessa Mula, a Senior Commercial Insurance Specialist at our Oceanside, CA office, exemplifies this ethos through her unwavering commitment to community engagement and volunteerism. With a career spanning over 15 years in the insurance industry, Vanessa’s passion for serving others extends far beyond the confines of her office walls.

Vanessa’s journey with Inszone began in 2022 following the merger with her previous company, Employers Choice. Since then, she has become an integral part of our team, leveraging her expertise to provide value and sustain lasting relationships with her clients. However, Vanessa’s dedication to making a difference goes beyond her professional responsibilities. Vanessa shared with us about her time volunteering at the San Diego Food Bank, where she helps pack and distribute food to those in need.

“I found out about the San Diego Food Bank because of my son,” Vanessa shares. “My son started volunteering with the food bank in high school as an honor’s graduate requirement. After the initial introduction, I decided to continue helping.” Vanessa’s decision to volunteer reflects her belief in the importance of actively engaging in community service and extending a helping hand to those facing economic challenges.

Through initiatives like our Charitable Time Off (CTO) program, Inszone empowers employees like Vanessa to volunteer for causes close to their hearts while still being compensated. The CTO program allows team members to take paid time off to volunteer, demonstrating our commitment to social responsibility and community engagement.

Vanessa’s involvement with the San Diego Food Bank underscores the meaningful outcomes achievable through our company-wide commitment to giving back. The Food Bank, comprising the largest hunger-relief organization in San Diego County, distributes millions of pounds of food annually to individuals and families in need.

“I believe it’s crucial to actively engage in community service and extend a helping hand to those in need,” Vanessa emphasizes. “These days, with the rising costs of living and food, a lot of people are struggling and finding it harder to support themselves and their families.”

Vanessa’s dedication to serving others extends beyond her volunteer work at the Food Bank. Outside of work, she spends time with her two kids and is an active member of an adult softball team. Her commitment to community engagement and its balance amongst her work life and family time reflects the values we uphold at Inszone Insurance Services, and we are proud to support her and other team members in their endeavors to make a positive impact in our communities.
