Employee Spotlight: Rosa Mojica – Inszone Insurance – Technologist

Here at Inszone, one of our missions is to make sure that every employee is appreciated, acknowledged, and recognized for their achievements. This Employee Spotlight series aims to celebrate success and highlight the talented individuals we have at Inszone, Cover Cannabis, and California Pool Association. Each month we’ll be featuring Inszone employees on our website, blog and social accounts.

Rosa Mojica is a Senior Accounting Associate at Inszone Insurance Services, joining the team in 2020. Rosa is no stranger to hard work. She has worked in several roles, from cashier to catering and bookkeeping, gaining experience in HR, operations, and event management. In 2020, after relocating to Galt, CA, Rosa became part of the Inszone family, bringing her wealth of knowledge and strong work ethic to the team.

When asked to share some words about Rosa, Richard Lemon, who is Inszone’s Chief Integration Officer, said, “We were fortunate to have worked with Tania as she came over with the acquisition of The Point in Downey, CA. She showed herself to be a natural leader with superior organizational skills and a genuine desire to help all around her succeed. After recognizing this, it was clear that she had to be a part of our Integration Team. Alignment of our departmental needs came easy once she was onboard and Tania has, more than effectively, shown her skill set in handling all that is delivered to her, working with both sellers and employees to help them through the challenges of integration. Tania is a welcoming presence to all that deal with her and will not quit until the job is done.”

To get to know more about Rosa, we asked her a couple of questions about her and her time in the insurance world:

Q: What initially brought you to the insurance industry?

A: When I applied for the Accounts Payable position in 2020, little did I know that it would pave the way for a fulfilling career in the insurance industry. This role, my first in insurance, has been a continuous learning experience, and I’ve embraced it with enthusiasm. The industry’s dynamic nature ensures there’s always something new for me to learn, and I’m excited to continue this journey of growth.

Q: In what ways do you think your unique background or experiences contribute to your success in your role?

A: As a catering director with my previous employer, I gained extensive experience in managing multiple teams and ensuring the smooth execution of each event, particularly weddings. One crucial quality for training and managing new team members is patience. I aim to foster a team that can confidently handle their roles and work towards their career aspirations.

Q: Can you share a particular challenging situation you faced in your career and how you overcame it?

A: When I initially started, there were only two other accounting members. My trainee had to go on leave within two weeks of training, so I had to learn Epic on my own most of the time. Fortunately, Rich Lemon would spend about an hour with me to train. This situation required me to think quickly on my feet and figure out how I could make my job easier and how our Philippines team could help me with specific accounting processes. In the end, it helped me grow with the company, and with the company growing at its pace, we must constantly think about how to make our roles easier and improve our processes.

Q: If you could describe your approach to teamwork in three words, what would they be and why?

A:  If I were to describe my approach to teamwork in three words, they would be communication, trust, and collaboration. Trust is the foundation of any successful team. It’s essential that team members feel at ease expressing their opinions and asking questions, which is why I prioritize open communication. As a manager, I believe in collaborating with my team and being a dependable figure, they can trust. I’m appreciative of their hard work, as I couldn’t fulfill my role without their support.

Q: What do you think sets you apart, and how does it benefit your team and clients?

A: I thrive on challenges. Our accounting is like a puzzle; we must figure out how the pieces come together and how to solve it. I love puzzles, so it’s a challenge when a coworker comes to me with an issue I can help troubleshoot. I am constantly thinking about how to improve our processes and our team. Overall, I work hard, am patient, always have a positive attitude, and love what I do.

Q: Who has been the biggest influence or mentor in your life, and what valuable lessons have you learned from them?

A: I have had several mentors throughout my life. First, my family/close friends have always taught me about hard work, love, patience, and loyalty. Second, my church family’s LDS youth leaders, although I no longer practice their religion, were a significant childhood influence; they taught me about hope, faith, and perseverance. Professionally, my boss, Aurelio Olguin. He was the one who gave me this opportunity even though I did not have any insurance experience, and I will forever be grateful for the opportunity he has given me and his belief in me.

Q: What accomplishment are you most proud of in your career so far, and what did it teach you?

A: The growth of my career within Inszone. It’s a reminder that you can achieve anything you set your mind to with hard work, perseverance, and determination.
