Wells Fargo Attune Card Review 2024 – Forbes Advisor – Technologist

Wells Fargo Attune vs. Chase Freedom Flex®

The Chase Freedom Flex® is another card with a generous rewards structure. It offers 5% cash back on up to $1,500 in combined purchases in categories that rotate quarterly (requires activation), 5% cash back on travel purchased through Chase Travel℠, 3% cash back on dining and drugstores and 1% cash back on all other purchases. Like the Wells Fargo Attune℠ Card*, it has no annual fee.

Where the Chase Freedom Flex also shines is its 0% intro APR for 15 months from account opening on purchases and balance transfers, then a variable APR of 20.49% – 29.24% applies. Balance transfer fee of up to 5% (min. $5) of the amount of each transfer applies. The Wells Fargo Attune℠ Card* has a 0% intro APR on purchases for 12 months from date of account opening, 20.24%, 25.24%, or 29.99% variable APR thereafter.

If you’re looking for a high cash-back rate on purchases other than those related to self care, entertainment and recreation and eco-friendly items, the Chase Freedom Flex® might be a better fit, especially if you don’t mind keeping tabs on the rotating categories that change every quarter.

Wells Fargo Attune vs. U.S. Bank Shopper Cash Rewards® Visa Signature® Card*

If you spend a lot on everyday household purchases rather than self-care and entertainment, the U.S. Bank Shopper Cash Rewards® Visa Signature® Card* might make more sense than the Wells Fargo Attune℠ Card*. You’ll earn 6% cash back each quarter on combined eligible purchases from two retailers of choice ($1,500 limit), 5.5% cash back on prepaid car and hotel reservations booked through the Rewards Travel Center, 3% cash back each quarter in one everyday category of choice ($1,500 limit) and 1.5% cash back on everything else.

While the Wells Fargo Attune has no annual fee, the U.S. Bank Shopper Cash Rewards® Visa charges a $0 intro annual fee for the first year, then $95, so it’s important to make sure its rewards outweigh its cost.

Wells Fargo Attune vs. Blue Cash Preferred® Card from American Express

With the Blue Cash Preferred® Card from American Express (Terms apply, see rates & fees), you’ll earn 6% cash back at U.S. supermarkets on up to $6,000 per year in purchases (then 1%), 6% cash back on select U.S. streaming subscriptions, 3% cash back at U.S. gas stations and on transit (including taxis/rideshare, parking, tolls, trains, buses and more) and 1% cash back on other eligible purchases. Cash back is received in the form of Reward Dollars that can be redeemed as a statement credit on Amazon.com at checkout.

Since the Wells Fargo Attune℠ Card* was designed to reward those who prioritize lifestyle purchases like self-care and entertainment, you may prefer the Blue Cash Preferred if most of your spending is on groceries, streaming, gas and transit. Remember that you’ll have to pay a $0 intro annual fee for the first year, then $95. Also, there’s a $6,000 U.S. supermarkets spending cap so the card may not be worth it if you spend more than that on groceries.
