BGL congratulates Chelsea Crawford for her selection to The Baltimore Banner’s Emerging Leaders class of 2024. – Technologist
Brown, Goldstein & Levy is proud to celebrate Partner Chelsea Crawford, who was honored on May 15 as one of just 13 members of The Baltimore Banner’s 2024 class of Emerging Leaders. Chelsea is the only attorney in the 2024 class. The Emerging Leaders program recognizes the next generation of community leaders under 40 in Baltimore and the significant impact they have made across the City and region. The awards ceremony at The Center Club honored Chelsea, her fellow nominees, and the change they have each driven alongside their personal commitments to the communities they serve.
Chelsea was nominated by her law colleagues and members of her community before entering a competitive selection process by The Baltimore Banner reporters and editors, as well as business and community leaders across the City. Her fellow Emerging Leaders class includes impactful leaders such as PIVOT Executive Director Veronica Jackson, Baltimore City Health Department Healing City Coordinator Derrick Whiting, and Ballet After Dark Founding Director Tyde-Courtney Edwards.
So many at BGL and the greater Baltimore community are positively impacted by Chelsea’s hard work and commitment to her practice. She has taken on—and succeeded in—some of the State’s most challenging and high-impact cases across her diverse civil rights and commercial litigation practice areas. Chelsea’s practice areas include wrongful conviction and police misconduct, personal injury and wrongful death, complex civil litigation, commercial disputes, and more. Throughout these cases, she has secured several of Maryland’s largest settlements ever recorded. Outside of her practice, her dedication to the community has brought her to leadership roles within various organizations like the Monumental City Bar Association, Executive Alliance, and the Alliance of Black Women Attorneys of Maryland.
In September 2023, Chelsea was appointed to the Baltimore City Trial Court Judicial Nominating Commission by Governor Wes Moore. Chelsea also served alongside a prestigious group of Maryland lawyers and businesspeople as a member of Attorney General Anthony Brown’s Transition Team. Lawdragon, Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers, and The Daily Record consistently recognize Chelsea with leadership awards for her impact in law and the community. She has received at least one major award each year since 2018. We are lucky to have such an influential young leader on our team, and grateful to The Baltimore Banner for recognizing her many accomplishments.
